UVa-Wise classified staff honored at luncheon

Members of the UVa-Wise classified staff were honored at a luncheon on June 6. Staff members who have completed 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of service were awarded plaques of recognition. Plaque recipients present at the luncheon include (back row) are Sandra Jones (15 years),  Liz Moore (15 years), Shirley Wolfe (15 years), Shirley Calton (25 years), (front row) Pam Moore (5 years), Leigh Ann Craft (5 years), Pearl Smith (10 years),  Sharon Stratton (5 years) and Katherine Stallard (20 years).

The University of Virginia’s

College at Wise honored members of its classified staff with a luncheon on June 6 in Cantrell Hall.

The third annual event also recognized staff members for their years of service and outstanding contributions.

Service awards were given to staff who have been employed at the College for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years. Awards were presented to:

5 years: Leigh Ann Craft, Nichole Davis, Tammie Hale, Pam Moore, Alice Porter and Sharon Stratton

10 years: Sandra Adkins, Rebecca Baker, Pearl Smith, Anthony Stanley and Greg Sturgill

15 years: Chris Boggs, Roxie Cox, Sandra Jones, Steve Maggard, Liz Moore, Oscar Raile,Tamara Robinson, Katherine Stallard and Shirley Wolfe

20 years: Jean Good, Linda Jordan and Chris Stidham

25 years: Shirley Calton and Darlene Moore

30 years: Pam Potter

Twenty-year service award winner Good also received accolades with this year’s Outstanding Contribution Award. She received a $1,000 award at the luncheon along with a commemorative clock and certificate. Good, the director of campus mail services, was also honored at a luncheon on June 13 in Charlottesville at the University of Virginia.

Also recognized at the event were employees new to the College family. They include David Cantrell, Information Technology; Pam Collie, Alumni Relations; TC Cooper, Construction; Linda Ford, Academic Dean’s Office; Joshua Justice, Student Activities; Krissi Lee, Southwest Virginia Technology Development Center in Lebanon; Nicholas Marshall, Student Development; Veronica Martin, Weldon Cooper Center; Holly Meade, Information Technology; Elizabeth Mullins, Graduate Medical Education Consortium; Mallory Mullins, Student Development; Natasha Papuckoski, Accounting Services; Allen Porter, Campus Police; Alison Ray, Media Services; James Rose, Housekeeping; Cassandra Talley, Housekeeping; Clifton Tucker, Maintenance; Bobbi Van Huss, Financial Aid Office; Joel Williamson, Student Affairs; Dove Bush, Abingdon campus at Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center; Brittney Mullins, Bookstore; and Heather Stallard, Student Support Services.

Graduates of master’s degree programs also received recognition. Those receiving a master’s degree include Rachel Burgess, MBA, Milligan College; Chad Gentry, MBA, Milligan College; Heather Wilson, MBA, Milligan College; and Adam Tolbert, Master of Science in Management, Liberty University.
